The Art of Prepositions
3 DAYS
A languge for sensitizing
Overview
Prepositions are small words with large consequences. Under, between, through, beside, and towards do not only describe where things are. They describe how we relate to one another and to the world. In the Snøhetta Foundation’s Sensing Space programme, co-developed with Know Nation, prepositions become tools for embodied learning. Through movement, craft, language, and spatial exploration, participants experience how the body understands space before it intellectualizes it. A child crawling under a table, standing between others, or moving towards light is not only learning grammar. They are learning orientation, empathy, cooperation, and awareness. Architecture, like language, is relational. It is not only about objects, but about what happens between them — and between us.
