Rethinking Rebuilding brings together architects, educators, peacebuilders, artists, students, cultural institutions, and civic actors for three days at the Library of Alexandria.

Civic Recovery

Rebuilding is often treated as a technical task: infrastructure, housing, procurement, and finance. These are necessary, but not sufficient.

After conflict, displacement, and civic fragmentation, societies also need to rebuild trust, learning, memory, participation, and public life.

Rethinking Rebuilding responds to this wider challenge by asking what rebuilding requires when the damage is social and civic as well as physical.
